ConnektSupporting the Impulse Dynamic Trafficmanagement Waterways program.
Rijkswaterstaat (the executive body of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment) invests in innovations in the inland waterway sector with the programm 'Impulse Dynamic Trafficmanagement Waterways (IDVV).
The extensive investment project consists of 3 modules. Connekt fulfills project management for Module 2, on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat. To effectively manage the growing project portfolio and the communication with various stakeholders, Connekt has asked Frits Bisschop (partner Districon) to take up the role of program manager.
The goal of the programm IDVV is to better use the capacity of the waterways by better planning within the transport chain. Under the credo 'River of information', a range of ICT related projects is in process or has been completed, including the development of an Inland Waterway Single Window and the Neutral Logistics Information Platform (NLIP). Within this IDVV program, Connekt facilitates a large number of initiatives for cooperation between market players and government agencies, focusing on the development of new information services and stimulate a modal shift to more barge transport. In the Lean & Green Barge project (following the succesful Lean&Green Award program), the focus is primarily on shippers, to stimulate the use of barge transportation through (regional) horizontal collaboration.
