Network study
An agricultural wholesaler asked Districon to review & optimize their supply chain network. With a growing network both by organic growth and acquisitions, their costs levels were growing as hard. They needed to rationalize their network to build a robust base for the future. Because of the large and wide assortment with a large long tail, a product segmentation was created to be able to manage the complexity. Districon developed a network tool which minimized the logistics costs, but also took into account the value proposition to the customer in terms of lead times.

Results
- Created a product segmentation to reduce complexity
- Network optimizations with cost savings while taking into account service
- A re-usable network tool to simulate and calculate different scenarios
- By training their employees, they were able to build competences themselves
